With the credit crunch putting the pinch on everyone's wallets in the UK, and now the budgetary cutbacks chaining them shut, holidays are taking a hit. More and more people in the UK are saving money by looking a little closer for any breaks or trips in 2010, and the UK tourism board is loving it.

And why not? Britain is the place to go for every sort of holiday you might need, and with a wealth of historical landmarks within an area that can be scaled in under a day, it simply cannot be matched by any other country out there. You've even got four countries in one, not taking into account the sheer diversity and cultural variety that makes one county so different to the next.

There's the Highlands of Scotland, with the magnificent Ben Nevis and a plethora of spectacular scenery amidst the lochs, combined with the more metropolitan areas of Glasgow and Edinburgh. Northern Ireland offers the amazing city of Belfast, with plenty to see and do whatever your desires, along with the World Heritage site of the Giant's Causeway, which has to be seen to be believed. Follow that with a cheeky trip to Wales and you've got everything bottled into one - golden sands, mountains and hills, city life and much, much more. And last but not least, there's England, with great food, great sights and great history.

Riding horses on the other hand, is probably a little too flexible. So it's the trusty old car we're turning to.

So whether it's to rent and hire cars in Manchester that you're looking for, or possibly you want to rent and hire cars in Nottingham...we all need a good quick car hire to do this. Fortunately for us all, car hiring is an increasingly cheap and easy process - with convenient and affordable options across the UK available. Here's hoping the roads stay clear and the traffic keeps quiet...
